About the role:
This key product development role will focus on ensuring we modify existing products for customers (75% of time) as well as introduce and refine new innovative product concepts (25% of time) through the hands-on development process, ensuring that technical, quality and legal standards are achieved and maintained.
Reporting to the Technical and Operations Director, the successful candidate will liaise closely with our Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain teams to adapt and innovate new and existing products that will provide solutions to our customers, that will help us win business and drive sales and profitability.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
· Coordinate Liquid NPD projects ensuring high quality options are formulated based on briefs provided by Marketing and Customers.
· Oversee and prioritise the work of the NPD Department.
· Work closely with Marketing and Sales Team members to provide information and feedback on live projects.
· Source ingredients, maintaining good relationships with key suppliers.
· Ensure all proposed ingredients meet quality and legal requirements.
· Preparation of new / reformulated product samples for assessment.
· Carrying out trial fermentations and assessments on new ingredients as required.
· Responsible for assessment of ingredients to ensure they are still of suitable quality for use.
· Line management responsibility for the NPD Technician.
· Keep up to date with competitor products, innovation and the market to ensure we stay ahead of the curve.
About You:
The key skills & competencies required are:
· Broad expertise in drinks New Product Development.
· At least 3 years’ experience in a drinks manufacturing development role (preferably alcoholic drinks).
· Passion for product innovation with proven record in successful product development.
· Evidence of successful project management.
· Have a food science degree or other relevant degree level qualification.
· Outward looking, market oriented and customer focused.
· Self-starter with strong organisational skills.
· Responsive and proactive, can-do attitude.
· Excellent communicator with accuracy of working.
Pay and Benefits:
· Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
· Full-time, 40 hours a week.
· Based in Cawston, Norfolk.
